The third largest island in the Mediterranean, the layout of Cyprus is dominated by two mountain ranges, the Troodos Mountains and the smaller Kyrenia Range. The coastline is a stunning mixture of sandy beaches, secluded and often inaccessible coves and rugged cliffs. With open plains, citrus groves and many forests, Cyprus enjoys a year round warm climate, and is ideal for an adventure holiday at any time of the year. Cyprus holidays represent the best of everything, from superb accommodation with plenty of Cyprus villas to choose from, excellent cuisine right through to family fun and thrills.

Cyprus also has a variety of challenges for those who enjoy sailing.

With sea caves, stacks, rock ridges and tiny offshore islands, Cyprus is an ideal location for canoeing or as it's more accurately named sea-kayaking. Sea kayak trips can be booked for some exciting tours around the island's coastline, while there are plenty of places to hire canoes and discover the amazing coastal scenery with family and friends. With many exciting features of the Cyprus coast accessible only by kayak, this is one way to while away the hours viewing vistas not otherwise enjoyed from the land, or just playing around in the surf.

Like sailors, climbers are also spoiled for choice on Cyprus. Whether you are new to rock climbing or more experienced, there are some great climbs across a range of ability levels. What makes Cyprus so special for rock climbing are the stunning views and environments in which the climbs take place. Local guides and climbing groups organise trips to recognised climbs and help with logistics and safety.

Cycling, and in particular mountain biking, is very popular on the island. With bike rental, cycling tours and mechanical services available throughout the island, you can be sure that wherever you are, getting on two wheels is an easy and straightforward process. A more leisurely pace can be adopted when sightseeing by bike around the coast. From fishing cove to rugged cliff to archaeological site, the flexibility and versatility of getting around Cyprus by bicycle gives a whole new perspective of the island and brings visitors closer to the local community.

Winter breaks can also be spent on Cyprus.

Despite its Mediterranean climate and sandy, sunny beaches, the mountains have an average of two metres of snow during most of January, February and March. With downhill skiing, cross country tracks and snow boarding available, Cyprus offers an alternative to the typical French or Swiss alpine break. With ski clubs, ski hire and ski lifts available, you can also hire warm clothing so you only have to pack beach clothes. The great thing about Cyprus over the winter months is that lower down and around the coast, the climate is very mild and with warm sea temperatures year round - you can go from snow to surf as often and whenever you like.

With flat water and a warm Mediterranean breeze, much of the Cyprus coast is ideal for windsurfing and sailing.

Getting to your villa or hotel on Cyprus is easy, with regular flights to and from the UK.
